Altlana – two points of view

The “Altalena” event from 1948 was recorded as a founding event for society and the state in Israel. Despite the decades that have passed, it is frequently mentioned in Israeli discourse and reflects tensions between political right and left, between sovereignty and human life, and as a complex example of dealing with internal crises and moral-existential-political dilemmas.

The ship scenes were recorded in the middle of the sea on a real ship, and the fateful government meetings were recorded in the place where they really happened – David Ben-Gurion’s house in Tel Aviv.
